Disability Accommodations

Parking

Disability parking is available in the East Stadium Lot, adjacent to Ohio Stadium, on a first-come, first-served basis. A permanent or temporary Ohio or other state-issued Disability Placard is required. The East Stadium Lot is accessed from Tuttle Park Place. Please plan to arrive early as reserved parking is not guaranteed. Visit the Transportation and Parking web site at www.tp.ohio-state.edu for further information. Seating

Ohio Stadium opens at 10:00 a.m. on commencement day. The following Stadium gates will be open to the public: Gates 7, 9, 11, 15, 17, and 23 on the West side; Gates 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 on the East side; and all North Rotunda gates. (Note: entry at the North Rotunda gates is NOT recommended for guests in wheelchairs.) Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.  

Ohio Stadium provides easy access for guests with permanent or temporary disabilities. Accessible seating for those guests is located at entry level and throughout the Stadium. Guests who use a wheelchair, have limited mobility, or are would like American Sign Language interpretation may request accessible seating. A seating pass is required for admittance to all areas designated as accessible seating. Guests must contact the Office of Commencement and Special Events (see below) by June 1 to make the necessary arrangements.

 

For guests who use a wheelchair:

Designated seating for guests who use a wheelchair is Row 11 of most AA deck sections on entry level. Seating in these designated areas is limited and only one companion may accompany the guest in a wheelchair so that all guests with special needs can be accommodated. A seating pass is required to sit in these areas.

All guests requiring accessible seating must contact the Office of Commencement and Special Events at (614) 292-9051 by June 1 to make arrangements. Arrangements cannot be guaranteed after this time. When contacting the Office of Commencement and Special Events, please be prepared to answer a few questions related to the accommodations needed, along with the graduating student's degree (bachelor's, master's, PhD) and graduating college (Arts and Sciences, Business, Dentistry, etc.)

More detailed information will be sent to those who request special seating accommodations beginning the week of May 21st.

 

For guests with limited mobility:

Designated seating areas at entry level provide ambulatory guests who cannot climb stairs or have a disabling condition access to the lower-bowl seating sections with minimal stairs encountered. Seating in these designated areas is limited and only one companion may accompany the guest with limited mobility so that all guests with special needs can be accommodated. A seating pass is required to sit in these sections, but seating within the sections is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

For guests who would like American Sign Language interpretation:

An American Sign Language interpreter will be present during the ceremony in Section 16AA on the east side of the Stadium. A seating pass is required to sit in Section 16AA, but seating within the section is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Guests requiring seating near the interpreter should contact the Office of Commencement and Special Events by June 1 to make arrangements by calling (614) 292-9051 or clicking here.

Live captioning of the ceremony will also be available on the north Stadium scoreboard, which can be viewed from seating areas directly on the east and west sides of Ohio Stadium.

First Aid

Medic trucks with EMS crews will be on site to assist with any medical emergency, and First Aid rooms located near Sections 16A, 17A, 11B, 12B, 23C, and 24C will also be available for assistance. Any usher can direct you.
