Instructions for Rehearsal

Commencement Rehearsal

1. Assemble promptly by 1:00 PM at the class assembly sites at the French Field House and the RPAC. Click here for the class assembly locations. Bring your line assignment with you. Graduates may park in lots around Ohio Stadium, St. John Arena, Ag Campus, or the Schottenstein Center--no Ohio State parking permit is required to park for rehearsal.

The following colleges should report to the French Field House (use the south entrance off Woody Hayes Drive or the north entrance off Lane Avenue): PhD; Master's; Arts and Sciences; Education and Human Ecology; Medicine/Health and Rehabilitation Sciences; Nursing; Optometry; Pharmacy; and Social Work.

The following colleges should report to the line-up areas in the in the RPAC (use the main entrance off the plaza): Business; Dentistry; Engineering/Architecture; Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences/Environment and Natural Resources; Law; Public Affairs; Public Health; and Veterinary Medicine.

2. Do not wear caps and gowns at rehearsal.

3. Find the sign for your college then take your place in line behind your sign. Your college will assign a line number to you, typically sometime during the week of commencement. If you do not receive a line assignment from your college by Monday, May 1, please contact your college office. Your place in line is determined by your college and the line number you received in the email sent by your college. College personnel will also be present to assist you at rehearsal and before commencement.

4. Rehearsal will last about one and one half to two hours.
