12:00 p.m. Virtual ceremony
In light of restrictions on large public gatherings at this time, Ohio State will host a virtual commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 3, beginning at noon. This virtual event in no way limits or excludes a future live commencement ceremony. The university will plan and hold such a celebration for members of the spring Class of 2020, their families and guests at a time that is both safe and practical. The Class of 2020 will be actively included in this process.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
The virtual ceremony is an opportunity for the university to celebrate the accomplishments of and confer degrees to the Class of 2020 on the originally planned date. It in no way limits or excludes a future live commencement ceremony.
In light of restrictions on public gatherings, we are not able to set a date at this time. However, the university is fully committed to celebrating the Class of 2020 in person when it safe and practical to do so. The Class of 2020 will be actively included in this process and updated as plans are developed.
Academic regalia is not required to participate in the virtual commencement ceremony.
Since Ohio is under a stay-at-home order, we are unable to coordinate the mailing of honors cords until it is safe to return to campus. Please know we have every desire to mail honors cords as soon as possible. We will make it a priority when we return to campus and will keep you updated through this site.
A copy of the printed commencement program will be mailed to graduates along with their diploma.
A digital version of the commencement program will be available on this website in time for the May 3 virtual commencement.
Take the Graduation Survey
The university administers a Graduation Survey to all graduating students (except full-time MBAs and PhDs who receive separate, national surveys) beginning three weeks prior to commencement. Students are encouraged to complete the survey as data are used throughout the university to improve the experiences of future Buckeyes. To take the survey, visit http://go.osu.edu/gradsurvey
